Imprint and postal contact details

Moviebase is a place to discuss movies and shows, share lists and discover what others enjoy. These guidelines are part of the Terms of Service. Participation is restricted to people aged 18 or older.

Respect people and their privacy

Disagree with an opinion without attacking its author. Do not harass, threaten, intimidate, impersonate or direct hateful abuse at others. Do not reveal private contact details, credentials, confidential material or other personal information without a lawful basis. Do not pressure anyone to disclose their identity.

Discuss films without spoiling them

Use the spoiler control for significant plot details and avoid revealing spoilers in profile fields, list titles or other places without spoiler protection. Keep contributions relevant. Critical reviews and discussion of mature themes are welcome; targeted threats or prohibited imagery are not excused as film discussion.

Share content you have the right to share

Post your own writing or material you are lawfully entitled to use. Do not upload pirated films, infringing images, sexual exploitation material, non-consensual intimate imagery or unlawful content. Do not post pornography or graphic real-world injury imagery. These rules apply to profile images, comment attachments, GIFs and linked content as well as text. Using a GIF picker does not exempt a contribution from the rules.

Keep the community useful

No scams, malware, unsolicited advertising, impersonation, deceptive endorsements or coordinated manipulation of ratings and engagement. Do not evade blocks, account restrictions or technical protections. Do not misuse reporting tools or submit knowingly false allegations.

Report a concern or block an account

Use the report option on the relevant comment, list or profile where available, and explain the concern. Use the profile’s block option to limit unwanted interactions. Blocking is not a way to hide public content from every possible viewer.

You can also report content or request a review without signing in. Include a link or enough detail to identify it. Report urgent danger to the appropriate emergency services; Moviebase is not an emergency service.

How rules are enforced

We use reports, automated tools where enabled and human review. A response can include a spoiler marker, rejected submission, removed content, warning or account restriction, depending on severity and repetition. Urgent cases can require action before notice. We provide explanations and review/redress information where required; contact us if a decision appears wrong. There is no guarantee of continuous monitoring or perfect filtering.

See moderation in the Terms and safety processing in Privacy for details.
