Report content or request a review

Effective September 10, 2026

Operator: Christian Krueger, operating Moviebase

Privacy and account requests: help@moviebase.app

Legal notices and content reports: legal@moviebase.app

Imprint and postal contact details

Report illegal content, a community-rule violation, copyright infringement or a moderation decision to legal@moviebase.app. A Moviebase account is not required. This is the operator’s contact point for content notices and legal communications, and our single point of contact for users, Member State authorities and the European Commission under Articles 11 and 12 of the EU Digital Services Act. You can write to us in English or German.

Information to include

  1. The precise URL, comment/list/profile identifier or enough in-app details to locate the content. A screenshot can help, but include the location if available.
  2. An explanation of the alleged illegality or rule violation, with the country/law involved if known and relevant supporting facts.
  3. Your name and email address so we can acknowledge and follow up, except where applicable law allows a notice without them.
  4. A statement that the information and allegations are accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and belief.

Do not send more personal information than needed. Do not download or attach illegal sexual exploitation material; identify its location instead. Notices concerning suspected offences involving sexual abuse or exploitation of children may be submitted without a name/email where the law permits. A notice lacking contact details may prevent us from replying.

For a copyright concern, identify the work, your rights or authority to act for the rights holder, the allegedly infringing contribution and why its use is not authorized. For an exposure of personal information, identify the location and the privacy concern without unnecessarily repeating sensitive details.

This is a general reporting route. We do not require you to characterize every issue as a DMCA notice. For a personal-data rights request, use help@moviebase.app or see Privacy rights.

What happens to a report

We assess sufficiently precise notices, request clarification where needed and act on illegal content or violations as appropriate. We acknowledge and communicate decisions where required and where we have a way to contact you. Applicable explanations include available review/redress options. Reports are prioritized by urgency and the information available; this is not a continuously staffed emergency channel.

Reports and supporting information are processed for investigation and safety as explained in Privacy. Relevant information may be needed for a decision explanation or legal process, so we cannot promise absolute reporter anonymity.

Ask for a review

If your content or account was restricted, or you disagree with a report outcome, email legal@moviebase.app. Include the decision or content identifier, the date if known, why you disagree and relevant context. A person reviewing the request can consider errors, context and supporting information; submitting a review request does not guarantee reinstatement.

This contact route does not limit statutory complaints, access to courts or other redress available in your circumstances. For immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
