Where should you start?
Release order shows how the series evolves from a rough-edged road thriller into a much more stylized wasteland. Furiosa is a prequel to Fury Road, but watching Fury Road first preserves its original introduction to the world. The films are better approached as related legends than as a perfectly tidy timeline.
Our take on the collection
Moviebase editorial
Vehicle design, movement and visual storytelling are the main attractions. Dialogue often explains less than the images, and the tone changes sharply between entries. Brutality and bleak settings can make a full marathon exhausting even when individual sequences are exhilarating.
Planning your watchlist
A useful shorter pairing is Fury Road followed by Furiosa. Return to the earlier films to see the series’ visual ideas develop, rather than treating them as compulsory homework.
